I’m worried for us.
All this vaccine hesitancy/fear/obstinance makes me wonder if we’re really serious about beating COVID. Similar thoughts must be going through other folks’ minds. Case in point: Omar Wasow dropped this into his Twitter timeline:
I’m like, “Yeah, we’re doomed.”
But then, thanks to film critic Rebecca Theodore-Vachon, I saw this and it lifted my spirits a bit. YouTube creator Drew Comments shares why he got the vaccine. I know from experience that some of the folks who are hesitant aren’t anti-vaxxers. It’s just that all the misinformation has them confused and scared. Those people, I believe, are persuadable. Drew addresses those concerns in a down-to-earth, playful way. This video is a reminder that you’ve always got to meet people where they are. Let’s hope those meetings happen before the virus makes things even worse.
