Upcoming Keynote: Museum Association of New York

Join me as I share what I’ve learned about leading through a crisis.

I’m thrilled to share that I will be the closing keynote at this year’s Museum Association of New York Annual Conference. It’s an incredible honor, and I want thank both Georgette Grier-Key of the Eastville Community Historical Society for recommending me, and to MANY’s executive director, Erika Sanger, for extending the kind invitation.

My session is titled “Crowdsourcing, Community and the Challenge of Institutional Leadership” and will give me a chance to share what I’ve learned from leading Weeksville through last year’s financial crisis. Here’s the description:

In the spring of 2019, Weeksville Heritage Center successfully navigated an existential financial crisis. The Center’s president and executive director reflects on his experience leading the institution through that crisis, what it took to tap the power of the crowd, and the increasing importance of being rooted in community.

If you’re in the museum field and would like to join me, here’s the conference registration link.
